History:
Brooks, Houghton has been in business since 1989 with a single devotion to assisting middle market companies with all of their investment banking needs. Additionally, our direct investment experience in middle market companies, through a series of subordinated debt funds, affords us a specialized skill and network of relationships that are unique to the marketplace. Highlights in our firm's history include:
1989
Brooks, Houghton & Company, Inc. was formed to provide comprehensive equity and debt capital market services to middle market companies.
1990
Brooks Houghton Securities, Inc., a registered broker dealer and member of FINRA and SPIC, is established to undertake all securities related activity of the firm.
1992
The firm creates a dedicated mergers and acquisitions group to advise middle market clients on sales, acquisitions, recapitalizations and other strategic initiatives.
1994
The firm launches a subordinated debt lending program to support the activities of middle market companies engaged in acquisitions or other corporate initiatives.
1997
The firm launches BHC Interim Funding LP dedicated to the provision of subordinated debt to middle market companies.
2002
BHC Interim Fund II LP is established.
2006
The firm launches a fund dedicated to investing in Lloyd's of London insurance syndicates, the first such investment vehicle authorized by Lloyd's of London.
2007
BHC Interim Funding III LP is established and BHC Winton II LP is established.
2009
BHC Winton III LP is established.
2011
The firm establishes representation in Geneva-Switzerland, Buffalo-New York and Providence-Rhode Island.
2011-2012
Brooks, Houghton & Company, Inc. embarks upon the establishment of a series of cooperative agreements with highly specialized groups dedicated to providing the highest possible professional support to our firm's clients in Media and Entertainment, Intellectual Property, Insurance and Healthcare.
We refer to these groups as "Silos of Excellence" indicating highly professional specializations available to clients of Brooks Houghton.
