History:

Traverse City State Bank, a Michigan banking corporation, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of TCSB Bancorp, Inc. Founded in 2000 by local bankers and investors, it marked the revival of the name Traverse City State Bank, which had served the community for well over a century until the early 1980’s.

The Bank’s headquarters opened in downtown Traverse City at 310 West Front Street on July 6, 2000. In February of 2001, Courier Service for commercial account deposit pick-up began, and on September 10, 2001, a full service branch with drive-up banking and ATM was opened in the Hansen Foods Plaza in Suttons Bay. The formation of a holding company and the initiation of a second common stock offering occurred on April 15, 2002. On May 6, 2002, a third location opened on Garfield Road in Traverse City. A Cash dispenser was installed in Bear Paw Pizza & Market locations in Glen Arbor (November 2003). A walk-up ATM was installed at the corner of Front and Cass Streets in downtown Traverse City in July of 2004.
