Overview:
In the past 40 plus years Conners & Co., Inc. has assisted a wide variety of clients achieve their public finance needs. We have helped underwrite a wide range of municipal projects for various purposes, including schools, hospitals, water, sewer, roads, buildings, jails, and refunding issues.
We developed numerous long-term relationships with many of the municipalities around the state. One relationship of which we are most proud is the exclusive partnership we have with Clermont County, one of the fastest growing counties in the State of Ohio. In the 30 plus years Conners & Co., Inc,. has been associated with Clermont County we have assisted them with numerous financings. Conners & Co., Inc. has provided the type of service to the county that we have believed in since we started in the business. We feel service is the only way to build long-term relationships and all of our clients deserve the same quality and attention regardless of size.
While other firms try to be multi-service companies serving both the public and private sectors, Conners & Co., Inc. specializes in the field of tax-exempt financing within the State of Ohio. From the front office to the back office, Investment Bankers to the sales force, we all concentrate on municipal finance. This specialization allows us to bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the financing. While Conners & Co., Inc. may appear to be a small firm, we have decades of experience in public finance.
Domiciled in the State of Ohio and with the majority of our business involving Ohio bond issues, we know the procedures of the State and, more importantly, know the market for Ohio tax-free securities. With this thought in mind, we suggest Ohio residents purchase bonds issued by public entities within the State so the interest is exempt from State taxes. Since we concentrate on Ohio bond issues, the vast majority of our clients are Ohio residents – the same people who will purchase your bonds when issued. The basic economic principal of supply and demand states that the more purchasers you have for a bond issue, the lower the interest rate issuers will have to pay to find buyers for the debt. The Federal Reserve Board, Flow of Funds Accounts' report shows that at the end of 1998 individuals continue to be the largest single holder of tax-exempt securities. With the increase in issuances within the last two years of municipal bonds, many of our competitors have been ignoring the retail investor in favor of institutional investors because of the lower transaction cost involved. While Conners & Co., Inc. has sold millions of dollars worth of bonds to banks and mutual fund companies, we have continued to play a very active role in the retail market – be it primary or secondary. Tax laws may change and the economy is always changing, but the largest single purchaser of municipal debt is still the individual investor, a prized client of ours.

History:
Conners & Co., Inc. was founded as an Investment Securities dealer in 1959 and has operated as a licensed dealer for over forty years.
In 1965 the Conners & Co., Inc. moved its main office to 36 East Fourth Street and increased the capital and size of the firm.
In 1968 the company again increased its operation when Pohl & Company (which was founded in 1932) liquidated their firm and most all of the employees came to Conners & Co., Inc. as officers or employees. The firm also increased its capital and that laid the foundation for the future growth in Investment Banking at Conners & Co., Inc.
In 1988 the employees of Charles A. Hinsch & Company, Inc. became associated with Conners & Co., Inc. and in 1989 Conners & Co., Inc. purchased A. E. Aub & Company.
In December of 2004 Conners & Co., Inc. chose to no longer be a self-clearing firm, and became fully disclosed to better serve our clients.
Presently Conners & Co., Inc. has 16 employees of which 11 are registered representatives and sell bonds, stocks and mutual funds.
As underwriters, Conners & Co., Inc. has been very active in the State of Ohio and national municipal markets. We have been involved in issuing bonds from $50,000 to $500,000,000.
