(formerly America First Tax Exempt Investors, L.P.) was formed on April 2, 1998 under the Delaware Revised Uniform Limited Partnership Act for the initial purpose of acquiring, holding, selling and otherwise dealing with a portfolio of federally tax-exempt mortgage revenue bonds which have been issued to provide construction and/or permanent financing of multi-family residential properties.

America First Multifamily Investors, L.P. is part of the Burlington Capital Group family of companies and is managed by America First Real Estate Group, L.L.C. The Burlington Capital Group LLC is an employee owned international investment management organization committed to successfully developing unique business opportunities for institutional, private, and public fund investors.

The Burlington Capital Group and the Fund are headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska in the historic Burlington Place building.
