Before I can speak intelligently about the products and services that might be appropriate for you and your family, I need to get to know and undersatnd you.  And before you can feel comfortable sharing your goals and dreams, you need to get to know me.

Professional Development

Please invest a few moments of your valuable time to initially have the opportunity to learn of the professional experiences and accomplishments of William D. Gombatz, CFP®, ChFC®, CLTC, CASL®, Wealth Management Advisor.  Bill's valued clients benefit from his diverse professional background and experience.

After completing his Bachelors Degree in Sociology / Philosophy from the College of Holy Cross in Worchester, MA in 1978, Bill began his career by heading up a program for (CETA), Connecticul Education and Training Authority, an employment and training arm of the State of CT.  As the program director in charge of a multi-million dollar work retraining program funded by federal grants, he developed a public / private training program which employed a number of talented and dedicated individuals whose task it was to educate and retrain currently employed/underemeployed individuals and provide them with practical work experience in businesses throughout the Greater Hartford region, thereby allowing them to successfully re-enter the workforce and exit public assistance programs.  The program won national acclaim in 1981 and successfully placed 90% of  all those they worked with over each of the 6 month periods they were enrolled in his program.  The experience also allowed Bill the opportunity to interact with much of the regions top executives, something that would prove beneficical when he moved into the financial services area after the program ended in 1982.

In March of 1982, Bill decided to utilize his unique background and talents to help individuals and businesses with their insurance, investment and financial planning needs by becoming a member of the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network.  In the mid 1980's, Northwestern Mutual decidied to create an investment arm of the company and he was fortunate to be one of the first group of representatives choosen to launch this new phase of the company.  As a result of this new endeavor, Bill was required to obtain a series of professional licenses which included the Series 6,7,9,10,22,63,65 in addition to his Life, Health and Variable Licenses earned eariler in his career.

Northwestern Mutual launched a new phase of its growth, once again, in 2007 with the addition of a fee-based financial planning unit.  Once again, Bill was fortunate enough to be choosen to become an elite  member of this new fee-based planning unit of Northwestern Mutual.  Shortly thereafter, Northwestern Mutual formed The Northwestern Mutual Wealth Management Company offering trust services and Bill became a Trust Advisor for his network office in West Hartford, CT.

Because Bill believes in the importance of education and staying on the forefront of knowledge in his field, he earned the professional designations of  (CFP®), Certified Financial Planner in 1992, (ChFC®), Chartered Financial Consultant in 2003, (CLTC), Certification in Long Term Care in 2010 and (CASL®), Chartered Advisor for Senior Living in 2011.

Today Bill works with a talented team of financial specialists, including his three experienced associates (Amber, Meaghan and Victoria) to provide a comprehensive team approach to help his clients identify their needs and implement effective and innovative solutions.
