Our firm has its origins in the accounting office of native Washingtonian Bertram R. Abramson, CPA. In 1981, Bertram’s son, Edward J. Abramson, Esq. joined the firm as it expanded to include estate and trust services; Edward is now the owner. Up until Bert's passing in July 2014 at the age of 101, he continued to reconcile his financial matters on an almost daily basis on either one [or both!] of his two home computers. We strive to be at the leading edge of technology as well as environmentally sensitive. We are predominantly a paperless office. We maintain client files in a virtual file cabinet with encrypted off-site back-up. We encourage digital submission and retrieval of documents. Clients are able to submit source documents via a secure client portal and we always password protect confidential data sent out by e-mail. We have e-filed tax returns for many years. In 2011, we installed photovoltaic solar panels. This sustainable renewable energy source reduces our energy use and carbon footprint.
