We are an accounting firm that provides services for individuals, business owners, executives, and professionals. The firm has 16 permanent employees, eight located in Sioux Falls, SD and eight in Dell Rapids, SD. The company also has the following satellite offices in South Dakota: Lennox, Montrose and Salem.

Our History

KMWF & Associates’ story began in 1964 when Lowell Klanderud established an accounting firm in Sioux Falls. He later partnered with Mary Montoya to create Klanderud & Montoya, PC in 1977. That same year, Clair Wuebben opened his sole proprietorship in Dell Rapids, which later became Wuebben & Feehan when Mark Feehan joined Clair as partner.

In 1985, the four partners formed Klanderud, Montoya, Wuebben & Feehan, PC. The firm name remained for 20 years until 2005, when the firm was renamed KMWF & Associates, PC. Today, Klanderud, Wuebben, and Montoya have retired, but leadership has continued to grow with additional, new partners, Nordell Griebel, Justin Schneider and Mary Pat Mullen.

Throughout the growth and transitions, KMWF & Associates has continued to provide enhanced services with custom tax and accounting solutions. In 2000, the firm expanded its offerings to include KMWF Financial Services, a division to further help clients with their total financial needs including investments and insurance.

Our Dell Rapids Staff

Mark W. Feehan, Certified Public Accountant

Since 1982, Mark has been an integral part of the KMWF & Associates team. As a CPA partner, Mark provides audit, small business income tax and accounting, and individual income tax and tax planning services. He takes a personal, caring interest in his clients’ tax or financial situations. He truly believes that clients benefit from his knowledge and experience and it ultimately leads to building great, long-term relationships.

Mark and his wife, Dolly, live in Dell Rapids. They have three grown children, Marcus, Lucas, and Abby, and a wonderful granddaughter. When he’s not in the office working with clients, Mark can be found reading, traveling with Dolly, visiting with family and friends, and working on home projects.

Justin Schneider, CPA Partner

Justin started as an intern at the firm in 1999 and earned his way to becoming partner in 2008. He focuses on income tax with a concentration on farm, small business and individual taxation, as well as audits for governmental and not-for-profit entities. He understands that each client’s situation is unique and that listening is the key to finding the right mix of products and services. He is able to make complex laws and regulations simpler to understand and explain how they affect each individual situation.

Justin and his wife, Briana, have three children, Kenley, Tate, and Payton. Between volunteering at church, sports and staying involved with the kids’ activities, Justin is very busy outside of the office.

Dave Beeck, Staff Accountant

Dave Beeck has been working as a staff accountant at the firm since 2001. His main focus is assisting clients with tax return preparation, bookkeeping and payroll duties. In addition to his accounting experience, he also has 25 years of experience as a self-employed farmer, giving him the understanding of what it’s like to run a small business and how his services can truly help.

Dave and his wife, Krista, live in Wentworth. He has two children and four grandchildren, which take up most of his time! He also enjoys boating and golfing.

Renae Benda, Staff Accountant

Renae began working at KMWF & Associates in 2006 as an administrative assistant and has since become a staff accountant with the firm. Along with overseeing the day to day operations of the firm, she handles payroll and bookkeeping for various clients from small businesses to medium size corporations. Renae also prepares compilations and is involved in processing individual, partnership, and corporate income tax returns. In addition, Renae is in charge of the information technology for the Dell Rapids office and is here to assist our client’s with installation of new software. She is willing to meet with client’s to teach them how to use QuickBooks and give them helpful tips to meet their business needs.

Renae lives in Dell Rapids with her husband, Brian. They have two sons, Joshua and Matthew. She enjoys reading, camping, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Kirby Fitzgerald, Certified Public Accountant

Kirby first began as an intern at the firm in 2012, and became a full-time staff accountant early in 2014 after earning his Master of Professional Accountancy. He specializes in audit and individual tax returns. He is continually furthering his knowledge to add greater value to the work he provides his clients.

Kirby lives in Dell Rapids and his hobbies include sports and working with his dad on the family farm. He enjoys spending time with his parents, Jack and Connie, and also his siblings, Cami and Colby.

Michelle Witte, Certfied Public Accountant

Michelle joined KMWF & Associates in September of 2022 as a staff accountant. Her primary responsibilities include the preparation of income tax returns for businesses and individuals along with payroll and payroll tax reporting. Michelle lives in Dell Rapids with her husband Lincoln. In her free time, she enjoys playing pickleball and tennis. She also enjoys reading, hiking, and doing puzzles.

Teri Eddy, CFP ®, Director of Financial Services

Teri started as office manager of KMWF & Associates in 2001, but quickly progressed into a financial services role with KMWF Financial Services. As Director of Financial Services, Teri provides comprehensive solutions to meet the needs of families and businesses of the Dell Rapids and Sioux Falls communities. No matter the size of the investment or the complexity of the situation, Teri understands the value of total transparency and unbiased advice. She goes out of her way to be available for clients and make sure they are comfortable with their plan of action before moving forward.

Outside of the office, Teri can be found golfing or spending time with her family. She and her husband, Tim, have three children, Julie, Karen and Brent. She has had a life-long passion for learning and collecting new skills and information

Our Sioux Falls Staff

Nordell Griebel, CPA Partner, Financial Advisor

Nordell is a partner and has been with the firm since 1992. He provides tax, audit, and financial services for individuals and small to large businesses. He has very broad experiences that enable him to take care of his clients whether their needs are simple or complex. Nordell performs work for not only local clients but also national clients. He believes in trying to help with all of your financial needs. Often individuals and businesses get caught up with specific things such as taxes and don't address the full financial scope of their life and businesses that Nordell is able to address with them.

Mary Pat Mullen, CPA Partner, Financial Advisor

Mary Pat is a partner and has been with the firm since 2002. She specializes in working with individuals and businesses on audits, income tax returns, estates and trusts, as well as, management of the practice. Mary Pat understands that when people come to her needing help, they are dealing with stressful and possibly confusing situations they do not fully understand. She focuses on the personal connection it takes to really listen and discuss how to best meet the clients' needs.

Clay Noteboom, Certified Public Accountant

Clay has been a Certified Public Accountant with KMWF & Associates since 2009. He specializes in business audits and preparing individual and business tax returns. His goal is to always give clients the individual attention they deserve and provide the highest quality of information and services as possible. Clay grew up in the small town of Corsica and currently lives in Sioux Falls. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids, traveling, attending Minnesota Twins games, and spending time outdoors when the weather permits.

Angie Engler, Staff Accountant

Angie has been a staff accountant with the Firm since 2017. She specializes in the preparation of financial statements, payroll and reporting, and income tax returns for individuals and businesses. Her goal is to make sure that each client receives excellent service.

Andrea Haugen, Administrative Assistant

Andrea joined KMWF & Associates in August 2017 as the Administrative Assistant. She has a variety of responsibilities supporting the Sioux Falls staff. Andrea grew up in the Baltic area and is currently living in Sioux Falls. She loves spending time with family, spending time outdoors and traveling.

Julie Hanisch, Certified Public Accountant

Julie joined KMWF & Associates in 2018 as a Certified Public Accountant. Her primary responsibilities include the preparation of financial statements, payroll and reporting, and income tax returns for individuals and businesses. Julie and her husband, Andy, live in Humboldt and have two children, Jace and Ashlyn. Outside of the office, Julie enjoys reading, summer activities at the lake, and spending time with her family and friends.

Gage Griebel, Staff Accountant

Gage is a staff accountant with KMWF & Associates. He enjoys the various roles he plays in working with clients and their financial matters. In his spare time, Gage enjoys playing a variety of sports whether it be competitive or with friends and family.
