Banco de Valores S.A. was established in 1978 to carry on activities inherent in Investment banking, complementarily performing retailer bank activities. Mercado de Valores de Buenos Aires (Securities Market seat), the creator of Banco de Valores S.A., owns 99.9% of the capital stock of the Bank. It outlined the Bank's characteristic and distinctive profile in the banking system, causing the Bank to be the leading financial entity of the Argentine Stock Exchange System. Since Banco de Valores S.A. was created and directed by men of long and recognized experience in the stock exchange activity, the Bank benefits from the close institutional relation and support constantly offered by the Group Mercado de Valores de Buenos Aires S.A., Bolsa de Comercio de Buenos Aires (Buenos Aires Stock Exchange´s) and Caja de Valores S.A. Banco de Valores S.A. represents the vast experience its members have regarding securities distribution and trading. Banco de Valores S.A. is totally controled (99,9 %) by Mercado de Valores de Buenos Aires S.A., who instead controls 50% of Caja de Valores S.A. and also has, as an own unite, Instituto Argentino de Mercado de Capitales (Capital Markets Argentine Institute). Bolsa de Comercio de Buenos Aires owns the other 50% of Caja de Valores S.A. and has common officers with Mercado de Valores de Buenos Aires S.A.
