Basswood Capital was formed by a group of entrepreneurs, experienced investors, and operators to acquire a majority stake in one private small/mid-market company and grow the business for the long term. We seek situations where a business owner is considering retirement, looking to pursue a new venture, or wishes to reduce his or her involvement in the business. We are looking to make a controlling investment in a profitable private company with annual revenues of $5 million to $30 million. Our goal is to provide an attractive liquidity option for a business owner by working closely to structure a transaction that best meets his or her financial and personal objectives. Once a business is acquired, we will step in to manage the day-to-day operations of the company. We have significant capital resources that ensure our ability to quickly provide full or partial liquidity to a business owner. We are entrepreneurs – not financial buyers nor a large corporation. We are focused on continuing a legacy and growing a great company.
