BusinessMentoring

In February 2010, the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce launched the BusinessMentoring programme as part of its policy to support small and medium-sized enterprises. Since december 2011, the programme is monitored by the Business Support E.I.G., with the support of the Chamber of Commerce, and in partnership with the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry for Equal Opportunities, and in collaboration with the Luxembourg Trade Confederation (clc), the Business Federation Luxembourg (FEDIL), Luxinnovation, the National Federation of Women Business Owners Luxembourg (FFCEL), the Federation of Young Leaders Luxembourg (FJD), the The Mutual for Loan Guarantees (MCAC), the LBAN Network, the Tremplin Fondation, the Technoport and Horesca. On a broader level, the Grouping is dedicated to the implementation of support and accompaniment measures for SMEs, with the aim of facilitating their start up, take-over or development. The BusinessMentoring programme is most particularly intended for “young” entrepreneurs whose companies find themselves in one of the following 3 key stages: the start up (less than 3 years) - by making the mentee aware of what mistakes to avoid when launching a company as well as supporting them through the 3 most critical years of the company's existence, the development (after 3 years) - by helping the mentee set targets and implementing appropriate processes, particularly in the context of rapid development, the transmission (whether family-based or not) - by increasing specific skills of the mentee. The mentoring relationship is conducted over a period of 6, 12 or 18 months. It is based on reciprocal commitments and a process of evaluation. A structured follow-up is offered to each participant throughout the programme.
