Greg and Nic worked together for several years in the recent past and will be, again, collaborating to provide consulting services for needs such as business valuation and financial forensics in the areas of estate and gift tax and compliance, family law matters, buying and selling businesses (including ESOP feasibility), commercial disputes and forensic investigations. Crumling Consulting specializes in Business Valuations, Financial Forensics and Financial Consulting in Litigation Matters. Valuation Consulting Business valuation is a process, a set of procedures, used to estimate the economic value of an owner’s interest in a business. Valuations are used to determine the price a party is willing to pay or receive to perfect a sale of a business interest. The same valuation tools are often used by business appraisers to resolve disputes related to estate and gift taxation, divorce litigation, allocate business purchase price among business assets, establish a formula for estimating the value of partners’ ownership interest for buy-sell agreements, and many other business and legal purposes. Commercial Disputes and Forensic Investigations Forensic accounting services generally involve the application of specialized knowledge and investigative skills possessed by CPAs to collect, analyze, and evaluate evidential matter and to interpret and communicate findings in the courtroom, boardroom or other legal/administrative venue. Family Law Matters Family law consulting, with attorneys and their clients, includes analyzing the complex financial issues frequently associated with a divorce. Services include business valuations, forensic accounting, determination of income available for child and spousal support, income tax and cash flow planning, and consulting in the equitable distribution aspects of the marital estate. In addition, assistance to legal counsel in engagement planning and strategy, discovery requests and trial preparation is available. Communicating results in the courtroom or other legal or administrative venues are also critical to providing services in this area.
