Deutsche Schiffsbank AG
Deutsche Schiffsbank is one of the leading ship finance banks in the world with joint headquarters in Bremen and Hamburg.

Deutsche Schiffsbank is one of the leading ship finance banks in the world with joint headquarters in Bremen and Hamburg. We have been a flexible, experienced and strong partner to the maritime industry since 1918, and today we have a very extensive worldwide client base. Apart from our offices in Bremen and Hamburg, we maintain representative offices in the major shipping centres: London, Piraeus and Hong Kong. Our shareholders are major German commercial banks: Commerzbank AG, Frankfurt/Main, indirectly holding an 92 per cent share and Bayerische Hypo- und Vereinsbank AG, Munich, indirectly owning a 8 per cent stake. We offer our German and international business partners in the maritime industry tailor-made financing in all customary currencies for newbuildings and the purchase of second-hand tonnage, generally in the form of long-term ship mortgage loans. Other products offered by us are closely linked to long-term shipfinancing. They consist primarily of construction finance, preliminary equity finance and - in relation to vessels financed by us - derivatives managing interest and currency risks. At any time, the management and the employees of Deutsche Schiffsbank offer sound and individually structured advice. Our long-term loans are secured by first priority ship mortgages entered in the respective Shipping Registers. Institutional and private investors who purchase our ship mortgage bonds can be assured that the security provided by these foreign mortgages is comparable to that provided under German law. In addition, we issue Public Pfandbriefe, used to fund our public sector lending within Germany and to member states of the European community.
