Egypt Mining Forum 2025

Hosted by Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and supported by the Egyptian Mineral Resources Authority (EMRA), the Egypt Mining Forum returns to Cairo on 15–16 July 2025 at the Nile Ritz-Carlton. The upcoming edition is set to welcome over 5,000 attendees, including 300+ high-level delegates, 70+ expert speakers, and 70+ exhibitors, with more than 20 sessions spread across two focused conference programmes.

With new exploration licenses issued, early-stage projects advancing into production, and growing global investor interest, Egypt’s mining sector is entering one of its most promising phases in decades. Under the theme ‘Accelerating Commercial Exploration, Discovery and Extraction’, this year’s Forum will highlight the ongoing developments positioning Egypt as a world class destination for mineral exploration, driven by major policy shifts and regulatory reforms aimed at attracting junior mining companies and global investors.

A New Era for Mining in Egypt

The establishment of Mineral Exploitation Agreement Model, under which a clear framework is set to reshape Egypt’s exploration and mining sector. This new framework governs both the exploration and exploitation phases, streamlining licensing, improving transparency, and offering balanced fiscal terms for investors. It aims to ensure a fair economic outcome for both the state and industry, while aligning Egypt’s regulatory framework with international best practices.

The Forum will feature two specialised programmes:

The Strategic Conference will bring together stakeholders, investors, and policymakers to discuss Egypt’s mining sector and address challenges to unlocking its full mineral wealth. Key discussions will cover global market trends, supply-demand forecasts, and investment opportunities across the Eastern Desert and wider Arabian-Nubian Shield.

The Technical Conference created by a committee of leading mining experts will include expert-led presentations on industry advancements in exploration geology, digital transformation, operational performance, and sustainable mining practices.

The Forum’s opening ceremony will feature a keynote address from His Excellency Eng. Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of the Arab Republic of Egypt. As part of the speech, His Excellency will deliver a comprehensive update on Egypt’s mining landscape, highlighting key reforms, emerging opportunities, and the competitive advantages that is positioning the country as a regional trading hub for minerals and metals.
