FXcompared has its roots in a business called sendmoneyhome. Sendmoneyhome.org was launched in March 2005 and was originally funded and supported by the UK Government's Department for International Development (DFID). Working for DFID and the World Bank, the site established itself as the widest reaching and most comprehensive independent online comparison site for international money transfers, focusing on migrant worker remittances. FXcompared was developed out of this as a project focusing on the higher value end of the private transfer space as well as the corporate transfer space. FXcompared has been described as the 'benchmark' for money transfer comparison sites by the UK's champion for consumers, Martin Lewis (moneysavingexpert.com). We have also received coverage from a wide variety of press and government groups around the world.
