In 2001 the company entered the forex trading market with the launch of the first German forex trading platform, launched by ibas AG. The firm continued to build on its competency in forex trading in subsequent years leading to the founding of FXdirekt Bank in 2004 by Wolfgang Stobbe. FXdirekt Bank is based in Oberhausen, Germany. FXdirekt Bank was the first German online bank to specialise in forex trading and is the market leader in the German-speaking European countries for online FX trading. In 2007 the bank added to its product range by introducing CFDs and launched the multi-market trading platform FEXtrader Pro®. The in-house developed trading platforms offer the current highest standard of online trading. A further milestone was reached in 2009; the creation of CONTREX. CONTREX is the first supervised CFD trading platform in Europe and was launched in partnership with the Bavarian Stock Exchange.
