Gershon Biegeleisen & Co.

Back in the 1930s, when agriculture was still the main industry in Freehold, New Jersey, and farms dotted the rural landscape, Mr. Leon Riemer opened a small accounting firm to service the farmers and small business owners in the area. In those days, the cost of service might be some eggs or perhaps a home-made cake, and the bartering of services for food was common. Mr. Riemer serviced his neighbors, and they, in turn, reimbursed him as best they could. Besides his knowledge and his expertise in the areas of service he provided, Mr. Riemer’s exceptionally kind and caring disposition made him extremely well-liked and well-respected by all who knew him. "A real gentleman…one of the best people I ever knew", a former employee fondly recalls. Over time, the area developed and grew, and with it, Mr. Riemer’s business expanded as well. In the 1970s, Mr. Joseph Drucker partnered with Mr. Riemer to continue servicing an expanding client base. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Gershon Biegeleisen began working for the firm. Eventually Mr. Riemer retired and Mr. Biegeleisen joined as a partner, but the name of the firm remained unchanged for a few years more - a name that had become synonymous with quality and caring. In the 1990s Mr. Drucker retired as well and Mr. Biegeleisen changed the name of the firm to Gershon Biegeleisen & Co. Over the next twenty years, under the leadership of Gershon Biegeleisen, the firm grew and flourished, eventually branching out to an additional location in Lakewood, NJ. And today, over seventy years since the inception of our firm, and after the passing of Mr. Leon Riemer, Gershon Biegeleisen & Co. continues to provide those same services as in years gone by and in the true tradition of the firm, all the while upholding its original vision of quality service provided with a smile.
