Our Team

Bashir Khan, Partner, Audit and Assurance

Bashir is a seasoned audit partner, with his career spanning back to 2001. He started his professional journey gaining valuable insight across a variety of sectors in Industry, before joining Gravita in 2004 and making the leap into Practice before qualifying.

Briefly departing Gravita for a stint at a ‘Big 4’ firm, Bashir returned to Gravita in 2013 to continue the hands on relationship he so enjoys with his clients and has not looked back. He is dedicated to fostering a culture of continuous learning and development, encouraging the wider team to pursue excellence.

Bashir has a wealth of expertise in the gaming, consultancy, media, manufacturing, and architecture sectors. He also has expert knowledge of using technology to help deliver professional services, particularly through the use of Inflo.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Bashir enjoys playing football, going to the theatre, and spending time with friends and family.

Dan Rose, Partner, Audit and Assurance

Dan is a member of the ICAEW and a Fellow of the ACCA. He has a wide range of experience and insight into a number of different industries. He and his team are experienced in working with a wide range of businesses operating both in the UK and globally. Dan works closely with the tax department to ensure his clients are receiving the best advice from our firmwide expertise. Dan also heads up our Financial Services sector.

His skills range from basic bookkeeping and accounting/audit services to more complex share valuations, due diligence exercises and legacy insurance. He works within the transactional team on a number of projects including expert witness work, forensic and investigation projects which require a level of detailed report writing experience. Recent experiences have been on fraud investigations involving a director, expert witness on a financial reporting matter, due diligence on both a sale and purchase side of separate transactions and a valuation of a group of companies for a potential sale.

Dan is a full member of The Academy of Experts. The Academy is the professional society and accrediting body for expert witnesses of all disciplines. It is independently run by experts for experts and those using them.

Daniel Howarth, Partner, Audit and Assurance

Dan Howarth has over 15 years’ experience in accountancy practice.

As an Audit Partner, Dan is responsible for auditing some of our largest clients and has gained significant experience in the audit of complex groups with overseas subsidiaries. Dan plays a key role in overseeing Gravita’s crypto sector, and is a key member of our financial services sector.

Dan trained with a smaller firm where he covered every aspect of accountancy. He has successfully transferred his skills to a bigger practice serving larger-sized companies.

Diana Savory, Director, VAT

Diana is a Director within our VAT team and has over 20 years of experience in indirect tax. Diana spent her first 10 years with HMRC before moving into practice. A self-confessed generalist when it comes to VAT, Diana has assisted many clients across a variety of issues, not least assisting charities with business/non-business apportionment methods, agreeing partial exemption special methods, helping businesses streamline supply chains, providing advice with regard to real estate and cross border transactions as well as liaising with HMRC to come to the reasonable conclusion.

Outside of work, Diana is a gamer who enjoys time playing computer games, card games, Dungeons and Dragons and arranging board game meets. When not spending her time strategising how to defeat the enemy, she is a keen reader, swapping between the classics, sci-fi and thriller novels.

Elliott Pearl, Partner, Accounts

Elliott’s approach to working with clients is very much long term, with many having worked with him since he joined Gravita, some 15 years ago.

Elliott is proud to have helped many of his clients grow their businesses, supporting them through fundraising and growing their teams, to ensuring they continue to be as tax efficient as possible, with the appropriate structures in place to support growth.

He takes pride in serving clients from a broad range of sectors within his portfolio, to include healthcare, property, hospitality and business consultancy, and enjoys getting under the skin and understanding the nuances of each sector.

For Elliott’s clients who are owner managed businesses, they rely on him to successfully facilitate their tax planning between Gravita’s corporate and personal tax teams, ensuring they are paying the correct amount of tax, but of course minimising their tax liability where possible.

Elliott’s hands on approach and passion for wanting to help his clients succeed is why he enjoys a large number of referrals from within his client base.

Filiz Zekia, Partner, Tax

Filiz has been in accounting since 1994 and she has been advising owner-managed businesses in a wide range of sectors including fashion, engineering, architecture, media, and property together with high net worth individuals in respect of their financial and taxation affairs. Filiz has extensive experience in dealing with taxation of businesses, HMRC enquiries and leading both the personal and corporate tax team at Gravita. She also speaks English and Turkish.
