HighPoint Capital is an independent investment firm backed by a committed group of high-net-worth individuals and wealthy families (sophisticated/wholesale investors) looking to invest capital into established Australian businesses with strong potential for capital appreciation. We assist the current management by managing the corporate development program for the business, while management focus on running the business. Our team’s experience gained through successfully investing in, building, managing and exiting numerous businesses, has enabled us to create a skillset that is aimed at enhancing the value of your company by developing product, channel and geographic strategies, identifying and implementing acquisitions, as well as relevant and targeted operational execution. We understand the challenges and complexities that come with a fast growing business, such as balancing the need for more capital with personal financial risk, family and management dynamics, as well as complicated ownership structures. Our team has the necessary skills, experience and energy to help build large, profitable and sustainable businesses, together with the current owners. Investment Criteria We focus on the Investment rather than the specific market sectors, investing in companies with strong management and proven track, with owners or managers who embrace our active participation. For such a partnership or investment to realise its full potential, the business should be aligned with all the parties growth and exit aspirations. HighPoint Capital does not favour any one industry or sector. Instead we consider a broad range of potential investments based on the quality and integrity of management, the company’s growth prospects and our ability to add value to the opportunity. More specifically we look for businesses that: Are cash flow positive and generating EBITDA from circa $1.5 million to $10 million Are sustainable and growing Minimum four year trading history Identified competitive advantage with high barriers to entry Positioned for strong organic growth or growth through acquisitions Require additional capital or expertise to deliver on the growth ambitions or require capital to replace an aging shareholder wanting to retire Outside of the above criteria we will also consider: Financially distressed companies which have sound underlying businesses but which suffer from an inappropriate legacy capital structure (ie: not pure turnarounds). We adopt a wide range of investment structures, but most importantly we take a conservative attitude towards debt and generally avoid highly geared businesses. We typically invest equity of between $5.0 million and $15 million per investment (single or multiple tranches).
