From the early years of HRSS, when Haroon Shaikh launched the company from his kitchen table, to our current incarnation as a thriving practice with five offices and a national client list, we have stayed true to our core values: an unwavering commitment to each client in the form of personal attention, hands-on experience, timely delivery, and open communication; and superior, Big 4 expertise coupled with the reasonable pricing of a small practice. With little more than a good idea, a personal drive to achieve, and a commitment to hard work, Haroon Shaikh founded HRSS in Houston in 1982. Haroon, who had worked as Senior Manager at KPMG and Audit Manager at Deloitte, wished to serve the accounting and business needs of entrepreneurs with his new practice. He brought on Farrukh Seyar in 1993, and the two continued to recruit professionals with high-level industry experience and a demonstrated commitment to excellent service. In 2006, they launched their wealth management and advisory services, and soon after they debuted the assurance practice. The firm’s singular focus has led to its continued growth over 30 years. In 2003, HRSS opened its Dallas office, and four years after that, the San Antonio and Atlanta offices were founded. Currently, the firm’s leadership team comprises 9 members operating in 5 offices in the states of Texas and Georgia. In January 2011, the firm changed its name from HR Shaikh Seyar, LLP to HRSS, LLP. HRSS is one of Houston’s fastest growing firms, with an annual growth rate of 20% over the past 10 years. Additionally, for the past 5 years, HRSS has been ranked among the top 25 CPA firms by Houston Business Journal.
