Landesbank Schleswig-Holstein International S.A., a subsidiary of former LB Kiel, was established in Luxembourg in 1977. In the wake of the merger between LB Kiel and Hamburgische Landesbank in June 2003, Landesbank Schleswig-Holstein International S.A. was renamed HSH Nordbank International S.A. Back in 2000, the Landesbank Schleswig-Holstein International S.A. acquired a stake of 80% in NOBIS Société des Banques Privées S.A. Since April 1, 2005 HSH Nordbank International S.A. holds 100 percent of the shares in NOBIS Société des Banques Privées S.A. NOBIS Société des Banques Privées was established in 1983 at the initiative of IKB Deutsche Kreditbank AG, Düsseldorf and Berlin, in the form of a finance corporation and named NOBIS-FINANZ International. In 1987, the founding members decided to convert the finance corporation into a private bank. In the wake of the acquisition, by Landesbank Schleswig-Holstein International S.A, of a strategic equity holding in NOBIS Société des Banques Privées S.A. in 2000, both financial institutions intensified their collaboration, which ultimately led to HSH Nordbank Private Banking S.A. in its current form.
