Cairo, Egypt | 12 August 2025 – Recording three productive days of business, learning and sector-wide engagement, the 2025 edition of Big 5 Construct Egypt and Egypt Infrastructure & Water Expo concluded in Cairo. The events convened key government representatives and industry leaders to drive stronger alignment between public and private sector goals, addressing national priorities across construction, infrastructure, housing and utilities under Egypt’s Vision 2030.
Held under the patronage of His Excellency Dr Moustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt and supported by the Ministry of Housing, Utilities & Urban Infrastructure and the Egyptian Armed Forces Engineering Authority, the events welcomed 18,987 industry professionals, reflecting the country's infrastructure development goals for sustainable cities, transport connectivity and decentralizing urban density.

Diverse exhibitor momentum reflects sector-wide opportunity
This year’s edition brought together a diverse exhibitor base, representing well-established brands, new market entrants and solution providers. Exhibitors from over 20 countries, including Egypt, China, France, Germany, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, United Arab Emirates and the UK, complemented the international scope of the event.
Exhibitors showcased the latest in building materials, digital construction tools, HVAC-R, water technologies, heavy machinery and smart systems, supporting Egypt’s infrastructure delivery across both public and private sectors.
Some of the prominent participants across both events included, Bosch, Smart Copper, BEAM, Veolia, Manarat Al Omran, Triangle Innovative Solutions, Grupo Greco Gres and Odoo Middle East. This year also welcomed strong international delegations, including the European Cluster Collaboration Platform (ECCP), which hosted a dynamic EU–South MED pitching session to spotlight cross-border innovation and partnership opportunities. Meanwhile, the Saudi Arabian Commercial Attaché in Cairo, Mr. Anwar Ayed bin Hasousa, toured the stands of prominent Saudi Arabian exhibitors, reflecting the growing bilateral interest in construction and infrastructure collaboration.
Strategic dialogue addressing industry demands
Big 5 Talks, Infra360 and Water360 drew substantial attendance, generating critical dialogue around sustainability, urban resilience, smart infrastructure and regulatory developments supporting Egypt’s urban expansion agenda.
Leading voices at Big 5 Talks, including Engr Eman El Garhy, IFC Consultant | EDGE Expert, International Finance Corporation (World Bank Group); Amira Fouad, Sustainability and ESG Expert, Envogreen; Dr Heba El Dessouky, Hospitality Development Director, City Edge Developments; Waleed Arafa, Founder & Principal, Dar Arafa Architecture; and Mohamed Amer, Managing Director – MENA, International Code Council (ICC), agreed that sustainable design, regulatory alignment and ESG integration are fundamental to Egypt’s construction sector in unlocking new investment opportunities.
As Infra360 and Water360 wrapped up strategic sessions for 2025, industry leaders called for AI‑driven maintenance for water infrastructure reiterating that systems, people and governance should be integrated for AI’s successful execution. The standout session was moderated by Engr Atef Abdelfatah, Industrial Director, Legrand / Bticino, featured Mohannad Hesham, Founder and CEO, Life From Water and Co-Founder, Mohandes AI; Engr Ahmed Khairy Elazawy, International Expert in Water Treatment, Clear Water; and Engr Haitham El‑Kott, Water Treatment Expert, WETECH.
Celebrating industry excellence at Big 5 Egypt Impact Awards
On the sidelines of the event, the 5th edition of Big 5 Egypt Impact Awards recognized 18 winners in a prestigious gala ceremony at the Dusit Thani Lakeview Cairo, spotlighting achievements across Egypt’s construction and infrastructure sectors.
With the awards acknowledging leadership, sustainability, digital transformation and excellence in project deliveries, the ceremony was attended by dignitaries from Administrative Capital for Urban Development, The Arab Contractors Company, Orascom Construction, Hassan Allam Construction, TAQA Arabia, Egypt Green Building Council, New & Renewable Energy Authority (NREA), Egyptian Heritage Rescue Foundation, AMEA Power and The Egyptian Facility Management Association.
Speaking of the awards, Heijmans said: “Every year, our awards play a critical role in highlighting excellence, validating innovation and strengthening credibility by celebrating standout contributions in Egypt’s construction sector. What’s exciting this year is that 74% of our submissions came from first-time participants, highlighting the growing appetite across the industry to benchmark performance, showcase progress and gain recognition on a national stage.”
Big 5 Egypt Impact Awards were judged by an independent and international panel of industry experts, including government officials and prominent leaders. Winners were selected based on their merit and excellence.
As Egypt continues to work towards its ambitious vision to build over 38 smart cities, with 24 currently underway, the Smart City Initiative of the Year award has become a key indicator of national progress and technological advancements. This year, the award went to Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD) for its flagship project, the New Administrative Capital (NAC). Valued at over $60 billion and set to accommodate 6 million residents, the mega project integrates solar farms, smart grids and a high-speed monorail, positioning it as a model for future-ready infrastructure in the region.
