KOTYS STORY He was a financial planner with near 10 years of experience at two large, well‐respected broker dealers. She was an experienced auditor for the state of Indiana. Together, they shared a passion for enabling people to achieve true financial wealth through authentic client relationships. Then it happened. One night at dinner, close friends (and prominent business couple themselves) urged – Wes and Sarah Kotys – to team together and make their dream happen. “It just clicked and made sense to us at that moment,” said Wes. “That’s when The Kotys Group was born.” Inspired by their shared passion for building an exceptional service model based on independence, conflict‐free advice, and unique portfolio management process, in 2007 Wes and Sarah Kotys launched The Kotys Group, a wealth management firm dedicated to educating and enabling clients to achieve true wealth. Fresh out of the gate, the group was focused on setting the standard for professional financial planning. “We want money to be a tool for our clients to achieve their goals and desires, not a burden of responsibility,” said Wes. “But we also share a vision for clients to truly feel like family and know they are more than just accounts to us,” Sarah explained. For Wes, it has been an evolution of always working toward the best possible client experience, an attitude that has carried the entire group to present day, operating as an independent Registered Investment Advisory firm, where the advisors offer fee-only advice. They believe this is the purest platform for wealth advisory services. “It puts us on the same side of the table, as a fiduciary, with every client relationship. And I believe that’s the way it should be,” Wes stated. And while the name has changed – the company is now known as Kotys Wealth Professionals – the couple’s passion for the community, strong faith and entrepreneurial spirit remain.
