We strive to provide excellence for all of our clients by following four simple rules. Education The terms "bookkeeper," "public accountant," and "CPA" are often used interchangeably. But they are not the same. These three professionals are very different in their scope of work, the tasks they perform, and their licensing and professional status and their standing with the Internal Revenue Service. Although there are quite a few types of professional accounting designations, the CPA is arguably the most rigorous and difficult to obtain. To earn the CPA credential, an accountant must pass comprehensive exams on tax, regulation, financial reporting, audit, economic, ethics, and business topics. Our CPA's can identify the correct accounting treatment for complex issues, perform a review to help you obtain a business loan, file your business tax return, advise you on tax planning, and offer you strategic financial advice. We are bound by the State of Florida ethics board and our CPA's must take a minimum of 40 hours of continuing education classes each year. The term “bookkeeper” and "accountant" or "public accountant" is not a protected title, so skills and experience varies with these titles. Some bookkeepers/public accountants have no formal accounting education and have learned procedures on the job. Others may have an accounting degree or have completed a few bookkeeping courses. This is not to say bookkeeping services should be avoided, as they are valuable to many small businesses.
