MICROmega Securities was established in 1998 after formerly being known as South African Money Brokers which was founded in 1991. SA Money Brokers was first established as foreign Exchange Broking and has grown exponentially over the course of the years. SA Money Brokers was involved in broking Spot and Forward Foreign Exchange in the first year of operation. The company started the first Capital Markets broking desk in South Africa, namely Capital Market Broking Services in 1992. This desk functioned on a "name give-up" basis which eventually led to the opening of a "principal" Capital Market broking desk which was established in 1998. This company is known today as TTSA Securities (Pty) Ltd and is 100% wholly owned subsidiary of MICROmega Securities. Various other broking operations have also been established in the interim, namely the Repo and Derivative desks which have proven to be extremely successful over the years. The Rand FX desk, Repo desk and the Derivatives desk form the basis of what is presently known as SA International & Capital Market Brokers (Pty) Ltd, which is also a 100% wholly owned subsidiary of MICROmega Securities. MICROmega Africa Money Brokers (Pty) Ltd was established in 2007, which is presently focused on the Spot and Forward FX markets in various African countries across the continent. MICROmega Securities (Pty) Ltd is one of the many subsidiaries of MICROmega Holdings Limited, which is a listed entity on the JSE. Share Code - MMG.
