2008 Company founder Manfred Lauenschläger celebrates his 70th birthday. He has taken this opportunity to hand his chairmanship on the Supervisory Board over to Dr. Peter Lütke-Bornefeld, but will remain a member of the board.Subsequent to the TPC acquisition, MLP aims to further consolidate its position in the company pensions scheme sector. 2007 MLP merges MLP Finanzdienstleistungen with MLP Bank AG. Thereby MLP is the only large independent financial services company with a full banking license and provides its clients with consultation and advice as an independent broker in all aspects of finance, provision and wealth management. MLP and the mortgage broker Interhyp engage in a joint venture for residential mortgage brokerage. 2006 MLP acquires the majority holding in Feri Finance AG, Germany's leading independent wealth management company, significantly expanding its wealth managament business as a result. In their joint competition in May to find "Germany's most customer-orientated service provider", the University of St. Gallen, the managment consultants Steria Mummert Consulting and the German business paper "Handelsblatt" elect MLP as one of the top ten service providers from a total of 3,300 participants. 2005 MLP divests its two insurance subsidiaries and strengthens its independence. MLP trains its consultants in the company’s most extensive training program ever on the new legal conditions of old-age provisions and concludes the year 2005 as the market leader of the newly introduced basic pension. 2004 Dr. Uwe Schroeder-Wildberg appointed Chairman and CEO of MLP AG. Supervisory board appoints Nils Frowein CFO effective 1. April. 2003 Dr. Uwe Schroeder-Wildberg appointed CFO of MLP AG. MLP again proves innovative power in financial products with the launch of its umbrella funds concept. For the first time in MLP's history, the company is using IFRS as their accounting principles for the business year 2003. 2002 In spring MLP begins to enlarge its headquarter in Wiesloch with the addition of two buildings. In order to increase efficiency, MLP Bank AG now includes the operation of the MLP Vermögensverwaltung AG. MLP opens its first branch in Madrid/Spain. 2001 In March MLP opens its first branch in London. Once again MLP outgrows its headquarters and on 18th May new headquarters were opened in Wiesloch, Germany. MLP completes its client solution with the security brokerage platform. 2000 MLP opens its first branch in the Netherlands and establishes MLP Login GmbH, a company responsible for MLP Internet activities. MLP now offers a wide range of Internet based services covering all divisions of MLP Finanzdienstleistungen. MLP Service GmbH is converted into MLP Versicherungen AG. The MLP Financepilot is introduced which allows a total contract and liquidity status survey for each client on the internet. 1999 The weaving of Personal Advice and Online Finance into MLP Private Finance emphasises MLP´s unique market status and its commitment to quality. 1998 MLP enters the Swiss market and once again receives the "company of the year" award. The company now has 101 branches, seven of which are located outside of Germany. 1997 MLP enters the Dax 100 index and by launching MLP Bank AG, now also becomes a bank with an electronic broker platform. 1996 The comprehensive and intelligent MLP Finance Management solution is introduced - a complete financial concept which can be customised to meet individual client requirements. 1995 There are now more than 50 MLP branches in Germany. The first MLP branch outside of Germany is opened in Austria where MLP also establishes MLP-Lebensversicherung AG, a joint venture with the Volks- und Raiffeisenbanken (now Uniqa Group). 1994 The electronic broker platform, MLP Vermögensverwaltung AG, is launched. 1993 MLP converts into a strategic holding company and once again receives the "company of the year" award. 1992 MLP opens a new seventeen-storey headquarters in Heidelberg-Emmertsgrund, establishes MLP Finanzdienstleistungen AG and receives the "company of the year" award for the third consecutive year. 1991 MLP launches the first electronic broker platform in the form of MLP Lebensversicherungen AG, and once again receives the "company of the year" award. 1990 MLP is named "company of the year" for the first time by the "manager magazin" and by the Chair of Financial Studies at the University of Kiel, Germany. 1988 On 15th June, MLP shares are traded for the first time on the regulated market of the Stuttgart stock exchange, making MLP the first listed insurance broker in Germany. Dr. Termühlen becomes member of the Executive Board. 1987 MLP makes preparations for its stock market listing and allocates its employees a stake in the company. 1986 MLP extends the headquarters in Heidelberg-Rohrbach and expands its branch network with new openings in Würzburg, Erlangen, Münster, Marburg und Saarbrücken. 1985 The MLP client target groups are extended beyond legal and medical professionals also including economists, engineers and technicians. MLP develops its first mutual fund. 1984 MLP becomes a public limited company, thus paving the way for a stock market listing. 1983 In January, MLP moves to new headquarters in Heidelberg-Rohrbach. The building receives an award from the Association of German Architects in Baden-Württemberg. 1981 MLP accelerates the expansion of its branch network. The company evolves from a pure insurance intermediary into an insurance broker. 1978 The new MLP company headquarters are opened in Heidelberg-Handschuhsheim as well as the first branch in Hanover. 1976 Offices are opened in Wiesbaden, Stuttgart and Bonn. 1974 MLP becomes a limited liability company, maintains its focus on specific professions and rapidly develops into one of the most successful insurance intermediaries in Germany. The first office outside of Heidelberg opens in Düsseldorf. 1972 MLP becomes a limited commercial partnership. In addition, the company now broadens its target group to include medical and dental practitioners as well as law professionals. 1971 On 1st January, Marschollek, Lautenschläger & Partner is established by Eicke Marschollek and Manfred Lautenschläger as a civil-code company in Heidelberg, Germany. From the very beginning, MLP clearly distances itself from pyramid sales organisations, marketing and distribution operations and their associated business practices. The company strategy was aimed at providing financial consultation services to law students from graduation onwards.
