Morse Energy Capital Partners (“MECP”) is a Denver, Colorado-based private investment firm focused on lower middle market oil and gas financing opportunities in North America. The MECP funds target privately-negotiated, structured equity, credit, and direct working interest investments. MECP’s disciplined investment strategy is designed to capitalize on opportunistic, and often contrarian, investing across the capital structure. The majority of MECP's committed capital across the two private equity funds that the firm currently manages as the general partner consists of commitments from third party investors. MECP is a Registered Investment Adviser in Colorado, where the firm is headquartered. Fulcrum Energy Capital Fund I Fulcrum Energy Capital Fund I is the first in a family of specially targeted funds. Fulcrum was launched in 2016 and currently holds interests in over 1,800 producing wells and over 100,000 leasehold acres. Fund I is fully invested in four deals. Fulcrum Energy Capital Fund II We are currently in the market with Fulcrum Energy Capital Fund II, which was launched in late 2017. Investment Strategy MECP’s primary approach to building asset value is through active ownership and unique industry relationships. Under normal market conditions, we seek to take sizeable positions in smaller companies, enabling us to heavily influence business strategy and operational efficiency. MECP also focuses on opportunistic investing. We will structure positions in direct working interests, equity and debt instruments with the flexibility to either hold the investment or receive a substantial ownership stake through a negotiated financing structure.
