Started in 1984 by Jack Nelson as Nelson Investment Planning Services, today we remain one of the fully independent and family-owned and operated investment firms. We only recommend actively managed investments that we own personally. Our retirement income and investment approach is based on our 30 plus years of experience with what really works over time. Started on May 1, 1984 by Jack Nelson as Nelson Investment Planning Services, Inc., Joel Garris, Mr. Nelson’s son-in-law, joined the firm on December 5, 1999. Today, Joel Garris manages the day to day operations of the firm. Our family ownership and operation provides for real independence from any third party or parent entity and makes us unique to other investment firms. All firm decisions, investment properties selections and brokerage functions occur on-site.
