In late 2007, RBS successfully led the consortium bid for ABN AMRO. Their corporate banking unit operated out of Bucharest and had 14 full service branches in the following cities: Cluj, Timisoara, Brasov, Ploiesti, Constanta, Arad, Sibiu, Pitesti, Craiova, Oradea, Bacau, Galati, Iasi and Tirgu-Mures.
