As part of SEB's international network, SEB AM has positioned itself as a specialist for global real estate management and risk-adjusted investment concepts for European bonds, multi-assets strategies and European value shares. Our approach to fixed-income, multi-asset and real estate investment is rooted in a total-return strategy designed for today's investing environment. 1978 Incorporation of the securities investment company under the name BfG Invest. 1988 Incorporation of BfG Immobilien-Investment GmbH for real estate investments. 1989 Launch of the open-ended real estate fund BfG ImmoInvest (the current SEB ImmoInvest). 1989 Admission of ethical environmental funds. 1995 The real estate investment company acquires its first European property outside Germany in The Netherlands. 1995 BfG Invest becomes one of the ten largest German investment companies in terms of assets under management. 1997 Enlargement of investment focus to include the United States; first investment by SEB ImmoInvest in Washington, D.C. 1997 Pioneer launch of guarantee funds. 2001 BfG becomes SEB: Change of name for both investment companies. 2004 Repositioning in the institutional segment with the launch of a mutual fund open to the general public, designed to suit the target group: SEB ImmoPortfolio Target Return Fund. 2005 Incorporation of SEB Asset Management AG, a wholly owned subsidiary of SEB AG Deutschland. 2006 Launch of the first German umbrella fund for international real estate equities and REITs: SEB Real Estate Equity. 2006 Launch of the new international open-ended real estate fund, SEB Global Property Fund. 2006 SEB ImmoInvest becomes the first open-ended real estate fund in Germany to acquire an office building in China (Shanghai). 2006 Reorganisation: SEB Immobilien-Investment GmbH and SEB Invest GmbH are combined under the roof of SEB Asset Management AG. 2007 SEB Asset Management launches its first Asian real estate special fund. 2008 SEB Investment GmbH becomes the investment company for SEB Asset Management AG following the merger of SEB Immobilien-Investment GmbH and SEB Invest GmbH.
