Symponia - Dedicated care fees planning Welcome to Symponia, the true and natural home for all of your care fees planning needs and questions. We firmly believe that you and your family deserve the best possible financial advice at what can be a very difficult, sensitive and highly emotional time. Symponia was established to fulfill that very statement; we have brought together some of the best and most caring advisers from across the whole of the United Kingdom to form the unified, national umbrella body known as Symponia. Established in 2005 by husband and wife team, Jeremy and Janet Davies, Symponia was and still is very much a family oriented company, founded on a sound basis of good old-fashioned traditional values and the real wish to help people with their finances. The years have been kind to us and Symponia has grown into one of largest, national professional bodies, gaining an enviable reputation within financial services, the legal profession, the care sector and the media. Our directors are regularly asked for press comment and have appeared on both BBC Radio Four and BBC Breakfast. The emphasis of us and all our members is very much on respect and care, with the fundamental objective of enabling people to choose where they are cared for, with the peace of mind that they will be able to meet rising care costs indefinitely; whether care is needed now, or at an unknown time in the future. We are extremely conscious that sorting out the practicalities surrounding care fees can be difficult, emotive and stressful, and as a result we each aim to make the process as easy and straightforward as possible. Previously referred to as 'long term care', but now far more widely known as 'care fees planning', it can actually cover a whole range of advice, including personal finances, bank accounts, equity release and/or specific financial products. If you are looking into this area for yourself or on behalf of a relative or friend, you may also be coming to terms with new and unfamiliar words and phrases such as, attendance allowance, nursing care allowance, NHS continuing healthcare, enduring powers of attorney, continuing or lasting powers of attorney, receivership orders, deputyships, property disregard, deferred payment arrangements, care homes with nursing, residential homes, immediate needs care plans and/or immediate annuities. Our advice is don’t panic; with the help of your Symponia member you can put in place a simple, yet comprehensive, methodical and stepped plan that will enable you to step back, breathe a little and concentrate on the welfare of the person needing care, with the added reassurance that the financial side of things is being taken care of by a dedicated, appropriately trained and suitably qualified professional. Each and every family approaches the funding of care fees differently, and it goes without saying that, they all deserve personal and bespoke attention. All of our members will always endeavour to supply details of all the options available for every circumstance, making sure that both personal and family objectives are being met.
