PRESIDENT & CEO Katherine is a Financial Advisor and president of The Advisory Firm of Katherine L Brown, LLC, which is a Fee-Only Registered Investment Advisor in the state of Virginia. ​The firm was started because she saw a need for consumers to work with trusted fiduciaries without a conflict of interest when seeking advice about their financial planning and investment management needs. Practicing as a fee only consulting firm was the best solution. ​ Katherine’s past experiences bring a wealth of financial expertise to the table. She has worked in finance for over twenty years. In the past she managed the investor relations department for a real estate company and mortgage lender. Before starting the firm in 2005, she worked with two life insurance companies, a broker dealer, and a financial planning firm. Katherine graduated from Stanford University in Palo Alto, California with a Bachelors degree, and then continued her studies at the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA), where she graduated with distinction from their Financial Planning program. She was admitted to the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors based on her education, experience, and financial planning methods and is honored to be a NAPFA Registered Financial Advisor. ​
