In late 2007, RBS successfully led the consortium bid for ABN AMRO. In 1994 ABN AMRO Bank Kazakhstan, now – RBS (Kazakhstan), has become the first foreign bank to begin licensed operations in Kazakhstan offering Wholesale banking and became the first one among foreign banks to offer focused retail products.
