Uberis Capital’s mission is to help address some of the world’s intractable poverty and environmental related problems. Our path to change is via supporting entrepreneurs, who strive to solve such problems. The ventures we support are innovative in their solutions, and seek impact as well as financial sustainability. We are impact investors, who offer funding and a range of hands-on support to early-stage mission driven ventures that serve poor communities in developing countries of Southeast Asia– the ‘base of the socio-economic pyramid'.
At Uberis Capital, our goal is to support social entrepreneurs grow their ventures, and their impact. We help ventures transition from proven concepts to fully fledged and commercially viable businesses – and we do this by providing funding, and a range of hands-on support and advice. Uberis is latin for fertility, abundance. Our name evokes the transformative nature of our work aiming to improve the lives of disadvantaged people by growing enterprises with social intents. Uberis Capital was founded in 2012 by the founders of two long-standing and mission driven investment groups operating in Southeast Asia, Indochine Partners and Hagar Social Enterprise Group (HSEG). Indochine Partners provides growth financing to small and medium sized businesses in Vietnam and Cambodia; and HSEG is the investment arm of Hagar International, a non-profit and the largest social enterprise group in Cambodia.
