Wolf, Tesar & Company, P.C.

The present firm of Wolf, Tesar and Company, P.C. has evolved from the formation of a partnership between James Wolf and Thomas Tesar in 1980. After working for Arthur Young and Company in St. Louis from 1972 through 1978, James Wolf purchased an existing bookkeeping and income tax practice from Robert Clow, CPA in 1978. At the time the office was located in a building at 902 S. 13th Street, Pekin, Illinois. This location has since been demolished and is part of what is presently the main visitor parking lot for Pekin Memorial Hospital. Thomas Tesar joined the firm at that location in November 1979 after working for Arthur Young and Company in St. Louis from 1974 through 1976 and Brandvein, Shapiro, Kossmeyer and Company from 1976 through 1979. In January 1980, the partnership of Wolf, Tesar and Company was formed. As requirements for space changed, the offices were relocated to 1000 Court Street, Pekin, Illinois in July 1980, where the practice remained until October 1983. At that time, the location of the firm, 133 North Parkway Drive, Pekin, Illinois, was acquired by the business principals. On October 3, 1984, the practice was incorporated under the Illinois Corporation Business Act as a professional corporation with the name being changed to its current title, Wolf, Tesar and Company, P.C. As more space began to be needed, a larger office was purchased and remodeled at 1415 Valle Vista, Pekin, Illinois, in mid-2015. To coincide with the move to the new office, a new logo was designed.
