Services 1. Audit, Review, and Compilation Services The audit team of King, King & Associates, P.C. CPAs considers service to be an integral part of an effective audit. Communication between auditor and client enables the audit to be a tool for improved management and implementation of financial resources. King, King & Associates, P.C. CPAs currently provides auditing services to a number of nonprofit and governmental organizations. Our clients in the nonprofit sector include a number of voluntary health and welfare organizations, educational, and religious organizations. In the governmental sector, our clients include Towns, School and Fire Districts, and several types of Intergovernmental Agencies. All members of the audit team of King, King & Associates, P.C. CPAs conform to the Governmental Accounting Office’s standard for independence which requires that the auditor be independent “in all matters relating to the audit work, the audit organization, and the individual auditors, whether government or public, should be free from personal or external impairments to independence, should be organizationally independent, and should maintain an independent attitude and appearance.” Our audit team is thoroughly familiar with the GAO requirements for independent accountants specified in Government Auditing Standards issued by the U.S. General Accounting Office. Our firm has held and currently holds positions on various technical committees at the state level, including the Not-for-Profit Committee, the Governmental Accounting and Auditing Committee, and Peer Review Committee. Tax Preparation & Compliance Services We understand the tax consequences of business formations and planning strategies. As a result we are able to consult with our clients to utilize suitable and tax-preferential forms of business. King, King & Associates, P.C. CPAs serves a wide range of individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, estates, and tax-exempt organizations and are experts in the accounting issues and tax laws that impact our clients. Our understanding of the tax consequences of business formations allows us to develop planning strategies utilizing suitable and tax-preferential forms of business. We represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service and other taxing authorities, and provide tax-consulting services on a broad range of financial decisions. In the event a taxpayer's returns are selected for audit by federal or state authorities, we provide the expertise necessary to navigate this stressful process. We meet with the approriate authorities to resolve cited issues in the taxpayer's best interests. 3. Management Consulting We provide businesses, not-for-profit organizations, and governmental entities with assistance in developing appropriate internal control accounting practices. Our firm policy is to assist Not-for-Profits in applying for tax-exempt status with the IRS. We believe this establishes an effective relationship for meeting our clients’ needs. Therefore, we often donate our services to emerging organizations for the purpose of obtaining tax exemption status from the Internal Revenue Service. We also assist our clients, upon request, in the hiring of key financial personnel. Our services include assistance in the creation of tax exempt status for appropriate entities, hiring of key personnel and special consulting projects.
