Small Cap growth investing can be a very challenging for institutional investors. Typically, Small Cap Growth companies are characterized as “aggressive growth” and have rapidly growing revenue and earnings coupled with high valuations. These companies can be very rewarding for investors as long as they continue to deliver on revenue and earning growth expectations. The slightest sign of weakness or disappointment usually results in dramatic declines in values. The volatility of these aggressive growth companies can be very un-nerving and frustrating for investors. Following decades of experience, we determined that a better risk-adjusted way to invest in this important yet volatile asset class would be our goal. Providing upside market capture with downside market protection we believed would be a winning strategy over a full market cycle.
