Remsol Limited
We are growth-focused sustainability, CSR and environmental consultants

Remsol started out to provide business customers with a truly independent, managed waste service. By placing significant emphasis on process improvement and waste minimisation to drive long-term value, rather than a short-term focus on reducing unit rate costs, Remsol quickly established a reputation for helping business cut waste, recycle more and save money. In July 2002, Remsol succeeded in winning a 3 year contract to provide an outsourced waste management service to Evans Vaccines in Liverpool, later rebranded to PowderJect and eventually acquired by Chiron Corporation. At peak, the contract saw Remsol supply two site-based operatives and a full-time managerial presence. Significant process improvements and savings were delivered across the client’s three production facilities. The contract paved the way for Remsol’s expansion in the UK’s pharmaceutical manufacturing sector. To augment its waste and environmental management offering, and in response to client demand, Remsol introduced an outsourced safety management service aimed primarily at construction companies. Over a period of two years, it worked closely with its clients to successfully keep their sites safe. A strategic decision was made in 2007 to discontinue the provision of safety management services, but some of the inherent risk and resilience consulting services live on to this day. Initially based in a converted cotton mill on the outskirts of Chorley in Lancashire, Remsol relocated to its own first floor office suite in Penwortham in November 2007 as it continued to take on more people in its administrative team. In the Spring of 2010, Remsol launched a unique new No Win, No Fee waste management service tailored specifically to meet the needs of SMEs. The novel concept caught on, enabling smaller companies to access the sort of services usually only available to much bigger businesses. With more growth in mind, Remsol bought its own two storey office premises close to Preston’s historic Albert Dock. The building was completely remodelled internally, to provide dedicated training and meeting facilities on the ground floor. After a decade of working closely with companies in construction and civil engineering, chemicals manufacturing, heavy engineering, pharmaceuticals production and downstream oil and gas (bitumen production and lubricants, for example) Remsol extended its expertise to the nascent shale gas sector. After almost 13 years of providing integrated, outsourced management services, Remsol began the transition to its present-day business model: that of a multi-disciplinary consultancy focused on helping people grow sustainable, resilient businesses. Strengthening governance and injecting additional strategic thinking capability, Remsol appointed veteran Lancashire businessman John Kersey to the role of Non-Executive Chairman. Sticking with its long-standing corporate colours, Remsol launched its new brand identity in the Spring of 2015.  The overlapping up and down chevrons symbolise the company’s ‘less is more’ ethic: less consumption, waste, reputational and business risk, and less cost = more sustainability, more resilience, more profit and more growth.
