Strategy and Planning TPG assists and guides organizations through the essential planning processes critical to achieving their mission. Our expertise in strategic planning is invaluable to offices and institutions seeking to define their forward strategy and to make decisions on allocating resources. We help them to: Define a compelling strategic vision; Develop a Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and a comprehensive implementation plan; Evaluate current technology and identify better technology options to meet their needs; and Understand the foreign affairs environment in which their plan must operate. As an example, TPG developed Strategic and Implementation Plans for the Department of State’s Office of Global Publishing Solutions (GPS). GPS provides high quality print and publishing services to domestic offices and overseas posts. We have also developed strategic plans for other organizations, including the bureaus of Information Resource Management (IRM) and Overseas Building Operations (OBO). IT Solutions and Support We combine pragmatic, standards-based technical solutions with a keen understanding of organizational dynamics to promote integration, user acceptance, efficiency, and compliance. TPG teams have extensive experience with the global network environment. We focus on our client’s global IT needs, encompassing the full software development lifecycle (SDLC). TPG’s robust IT services include: Software development, testing, deployment, training, and operations and maintenance (O&M); Mobile computing applications; Data management and governance services; Hardware and software security solutions and management; Internal and external cloud-based IT services consulting; and Global IT infrastructure enhancement and modernization, such as operating system upgrades, application packaging, and converged platforms. For example, recently, TPG consultants provided expert assistance to the State Department on the worldwide rollout of Windows 7 and the development of requirements for converging networks, systems, and storage components (Enterprise Converged Platform). Project Management TPG offers a complete range of program and project management experience, skills, and certifications. Our approach to managing projects is based on the key project management phases that encompass the solution delivery life cycle: Project Initiation, Planning, Execution, Control, and Project Close. We are skilled in dealing with the complexities of a matrixed project organization that services a constantly evolving customer base and portfolio of projects. TPG supplies project management support responsible for performance, cost, schedule, and scope of all assigned projects. Our team follows the Project Management Institute’s, Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMI/PMBOK) and Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Service Level III standards. We have successfully adapted project management services for Software Development Lifecycles (SDLCs) that range from the sequential Waterfall methodology to the iterative Agile methodology. Our program and project managers hold the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Organizational Performance We work with our clients on organizational change management initiatives and business process improvement plans to ensure that users understand, accept and use new technologies effectively. We help clients analyze their business processes to identify ways that new technologies can bring about efficiencies and enhance customer service. We work closely with clients and stakeholders to understand their environment and to identify their needs. We collect detailed requirements and bridge communication gaps that arise between developers and users. To minimize the misunderstandings and resistance that frequently accompany major change initiatives, we stress the importance of a pro-active communication strategy, to provide information to users and to gather feedback from them. We use performance measurement metrics to assess the progress and, ultimately, the success of the project. TPG leverages its experience and certifications in the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and IT Service Management (ITSM) to enhance the organizational performance of service desks, development groups, and O&M activities.
